Shabbat in Brooklyn
Mar. 16th, 2007 12:15 amHey, this is really last minute, but my house is hosting a community Shabbat tonight (Friday, March 16), and if you wanna come, I'd love to merge my worlds of house and friends.
from my housemate who's doing the real organizing:
Place - (my house at the end of the 2 and the 5 line. comment w/ yr email address if you want real directions), Brooklyn, NY 11210
When - Friday, March 16, 2007
Time - 7:30pm
Dress code - comfortable to shlumpy
Food - must be delicious, or it won't be allowed on our plates. also must be kosher, except for the wine. cooked food must have been cooked in a kosher kitchen. bringing something, anything, makes you super cool, but is not necessary.
Ritual - candles, wine, Challah, salt (for those who are not concerned about their blood pressure.)
Music/dance party - be prepared to rip up the floor boards. all types of music are welcome, including Shlomo Carlbach.
Amour - that's what you all bring.
anyway, there will be singing and shabbat joy and relaxation and wine, and jews and non-jews are welcome. there will be no mechitza and women and genderqueers are counted in our minyan. Folks are also welcome to sleep over. I'll be heading to the lesbian herstory archives Saturday afternoon, and I know you've all been yearning to visit the archives with me...
anyway, comment if you wanna come.
